2022-2023 Distinguished Teaching Fellows Announced: May 2022

The Center for the Integration of Teaching, Learning and Scholarship is pleased to offer two Distinguished Teaching Fellowships for the 2022 – 2023 academic year. The goal of this initiative is to support the teaching excellence of Lafayette faculty. During the fellowship period, Faculty Fellows will further their pedagogical development within Active Learning or another area of interest, by:

  • Developing and implementing a plan for advancing teaching and learning with the support of the CITLS director,
  • Measuring the outcomes of their teaching efforts,
  • Facilitating a minimum of 3 sessions in the pedagogical area of interest before the end of the academic year to provide professional development for other faculty, as well as, present fellowship work to the Lafayette community.
  • Sharing how they advanced their teaching goals and teaching excellence at the College during the fellowship period as well as their future pedagogical goals, and
  • Having a willingness to engage in other CITLS events and mentor the next group of Faculty Fellows.

Qualifications

Faculty from all disciplines, ranks, and appointment types (including visiting and adjunct faculty) are welcome to apply. Midcareer faculty are especially encouraged to submit an application. Applicants are required to have their department head or program chair (as applicable) send an e-mail message to the Director of CITLS (addyt@lafayette.edu) in support of their application. Fellows will be selected by the CITLS Faculty Advisory Board. Preference will be given to applicants that have: a clearly articulated pedagogical interest area, a promising plan, and a project that has potential for impact beyond a single department.

Nominations are welcome.

Compensation

Fellows will receive a stipend to complete the fellowship, and financial support to attend a conference or institute focused on pedagogy (virtually if necessary) related to the area of focus during the fellowship period in order to develop their expertise and advance teaching excellence.
