Flipgrid to Increase Awareness and Oral Skills

Professor Susan Averett uses Flipgrid, a platform where students record and share short videos with their class. In Econometrics, students used Flipgrid to articulate potential problems with the statistical analyses found in articles in the popular press and, in ECON 325, Women and the Economy, students linked articles from the popular press to course material using the app. Professor Averett reports that “watching their short videos over time, I can see their ability to express their ideas orally increase. It has also helped me to get to know my students a bit better.”
