Dr. Laura Murray (she/her) joined Lafayette as Director of CITLS in Summer, 2025. A psychologist, educational developer, and life-long learner, she has worked at the intersections of emerging adult development, teaching and learning, and well-being in higher ed. for over a decade. At CITLS she oversees the mission and operations of the Center and partners with faculty, colleagues, and students to cultivate and celebrate teaching excellence. Prior to CITLS, Laura was Assistant Director at Princeton University’s McGraw Center for Teaching and Learning, where she launched and led an award-winning program to support all graduate students to learn and thrive, and also worked with faculty to effectively teach, mentor, and advise students across all levels and disciplines.
Laura is particularly interested in the potential of colleges and universities to promote holistic flourishing; evidence-based and inclusive mentoring as a tool to transform higher education; and effective teaching for and with students and faculty with dis/abilities and/or who are neurodivergent.
Laura holds a B.A. from Vassar College, an M.A. in Communication from Stanford University (Documentary Film focus), and an M.S Ed. and Ph.D. in Human Development and Education from the University of Pennsylvania. She has taught undergraduate and graduate students at Stanford University, Mount Saint Mary’s College (now University) in Los Angeles, the University of Pennsylvania, and Princeton University. She lives in Yardley, PA with her family and their dog, Jesse, who is on a permanent sabbatical.
