David Sunderlin

Dave Sunderlin, Associate Professor of Geology was one of the 2020 – 21 CITLS Distinguished Teaching Fellows. Dave was selected by the CITLS Faculty Advisory Board.

Dave Sunderlin focused his fellowship period on field-based pedagogy which involves active, engaged learning experiences. During his fellowship year, he showcased what fieldwork looks like across disciplines, integrated work on creating virtual field teaching resources for students, and furthered excellence in field-based pedagogy through the scholarship of teaching and learning. His efforts were highly relevant during this time period as we considered various ways to engage our learners regardless of modality.
