Guest speaker presents to a group of faculty.

Dr. Lauren Barbeau, co-author of Critical Teaching Behaviors: Defining, Documenting, and Discussing Good Teaching and Assistant Director for Learning and Technology Initiatives at the Georgia Institute of Technology, joined Lafayette faculty for a workshop introducing the Critical Teaching Behavior (CTB) framework. The CTB framework is accompanied by a comprehensive toolkit and provides peer review guidelines for a structured, transparent peer observation process. Attendees also had an opportunity to practice using the CTB observation toolkit with teaching vignettes.

As a supplemental and sustainable resource, the Peer Review of Teaching Module for Faculty: The Critical Teaching Behaviors Framework, was developed in collaboration with Dr. Lauren Barbeau. This module is designed for all Lafayette faculty and staff members engaging in peer review of teaching in either a formative or evaluative manner, as well as those being reviewed to document their teaching efforts. Self-enroll in the Peer Review of Teaching module on Spaces for access.
