The use of Generative Artificial Intelligence has become more prominent in our day to day lives. With the help of various campus partners, CITLS has compiled resources to help faculty navigate AI in their courses:

Teaching & Generative AI –This site offers a curated list of resources for faculty, departments, and programs as they consider the role of generative AI in their courses or programming.

Informational Guide for Lafayette Faculty & Staff –This resource, developed by the Summer 2023 Provost appointed campus working group, contains a variety of tools, external resources, and guidance for developing course policies surrounding generative AI.

Generative AI Community of Practice & Google Group –These communities offer a space for faculty and staff to share ideas and discuss generative AI, including emerging technologies and applications as well as the challenges and successes of integrating the technology in their courses or workflows.

Navigating Generative AI: An Infographic for Students –This infographic, created in collaboration with CITLS’ Spring 2024 Student Fellow, Dashawn Sheffield ‘27, provides straightforward advice for students to consider when utilizing generative AI for coursework.

Fostering Equitable Learning Experiences in the Age of Generative AI –Another contribution from Dashawn Sheffield ‘27, this article provides recommendations for both instructors and students on how they can take a collaborative approach to navigating generative AI in the classroom.

Bloom’s Taxonomy Revisited –This table serves as a reference for faculty as they evaluate and consider the distinct roles of humans (i.e., students) and/or generative AI tools in course activities.

The AI Assessment Scale –This scale provides a clear, concise guide for educators and their learners, to ensure a common understanding of generative AI use on assignments and coursework. A modified scale as well as a template that can be adapted to meet the specific needs of a course are also available.
