The Center for the Integration of Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship supports the inclusive teaching efforts of Lafayette faculty and staff members. The Center offers a number of programs, services and resources, including The Inclusive Teaching & Excellence Series, which involves sessions facilitated by CITLS staff, invited speakers, faculty members, administrators, and Distinguished Teaching Faculty Fellows. Through this series, the Lafayette community explores timely topics related to creating equitable and welcoming environments.

Ninety-five percent of respondents from an assessment of the impact of the 2018 – 2020 Inclusive Teaching & Excellence series sessions indicated that the event(s) helped changed their mindset, encouraged them to incorporate a new teaching strategy, or led to other benefits.

  • Inclusive teaching sessions are also included in the New Faculty Orientation and the Course Design Institute.
  • A number of online resources including a student podcast, guides written by students, and more have been developed to advance inclusive teaching efforts.
  • Faculty members can also apply to participate in the Inclusive Instructors Academy, a 1-semester commitment focused on developing, implementing and obtaining feedback on inclusive teaching efforts.
