Description

The International Faculty & Staff Community of Practice (IFSCP) is a community for Lafayette faculty & staff members who self-identify as international. Members of this community may have been born and raised in countries outside of the United States and experienced educational systems in different parts of the world. 

Objectives

  • Build community and create networking opportunities for international faculty & staff members. 
  • Provide opportunities for international faculty & staff members to share their lived experiences in academe with teaching, scholarship, and service. 
  • Hold a space to individually and collectively share knowledge.

General Resources

We have developed living document with a list of resources that are useful for Lafayette’s international faculty and staff in acclimating to the Easton and Lehigh Valley areas. We want to use this as a platform for international faculty and staff members to exchange information and support one another in dealing with similar tasks.

Teaching Resources

Global Expressions Podcast 

This Podcast involves international students interviewing international faculty and staff on topics related to cultural differences, cultural adjustments, studying abroad, working and living in the U.S., etc. The purpose of this program is to provide a platform for international faculty, staff, and students to exchange their experiences of living and studying in the U.S. and to foster cross-cultural understanding within the campus community. Complete the interest form for faculty and staff if you’d like to participate.
