Description

We have a top-notch program for new faculty at Lafayette that commences with a multi-day orientation in August, and expands into a year-long faculty learning community that meets on Fridays over lunch. We support all new faculty at the institution – tenure-line (both pre-tenure and tenured), visitors and adjuncts. New adjunct faculty are also welcome to attend the multi-day August orientation and any session during the year. We continue to see a number of positive outcomes from these initiatives including faculty feeling equipped, connected, and empowered to thrive at Lafayette.

Objectives

• Support new faculty in their transition to Lafayette by connecting them with resources, offices, centers and programs
• Promote the understanding of Lafayette procedures, policies and other attributes
• Develop a community of belonging during the first-year transition
