This past Friday, CITLS hosted an open house for the 2022-2023 New Faculty Cohort. To put a unique twist on the event, we employed an active learning activity to engage guests in exploring the programming, services, and resources that CITLS houses and supports. New faculty completed a hybrid digital / analog escape room that provoked them to think about their teaching by challenging them to reflect on their inclusive teaching efforts, consider new or different teaching strategies, and identify the aspects of teaching that they find to be complex or nuanced. Additionally, it modeled a fun and engaging active learning activity that they can use in their own classrooms.
